Ted's household success

Ted's household success

Success with a household!

From Ted Hatwood in his own words, “With a little bit of advice and continuing support, Robin achieved one of his hopes of growing his own vegetables. With only a very small garden, Robin utilised boxes and planters, including ornamental pots along a south facing wall. In his first attempt he has successfully grown potatoes, herbs, salad groups, runner beans and peas. Tomatoes too, were on the agenda. Being a Kenilworth kid it was a must for him to go to Ryton gardens and make a purchase of the “Kenilworth” tomato variety. Money well spent, as he has produced an even better crop than yours truly.

By using two special potato bags and the varieties Desiree and King Edwards, he began to crop at the end of August. He harvested around 10-12lbs of good class spuds. Robin is now planning to grow much more in 2011, and of course I shall be keeping an eye on his progress.”
